What Is Shaft Flex — And Why Does It Matter?

- Fast, aggressive transition: You may need one flex stiffer. A hard transition over-loads a softer shaft and causes early release.
A good rule of thumb: if your misses are consistently high and left (for a right-handed golfer), your shaft may be too soft. If they're low and right, it may be too stiff.
3. Desired Ball Flight
Flex also interacts with your preferred trajectory:
- Softer flex → higher launch, more spin (good for players who need help getting the ball airborne)
